How do Texans really feel about the idea of secession?

In the last month or so, statements by high-profile conservatives Rick Perry and Glenn Beck have sparked a dialog about the idea of Texas seceding from the Union. As a Texan (although in exile), I am appalled by this notion, but with regards to other people in the state, what to Texans really think about this idea?
