How do i activate Lulu's overdrive in FF X?

after playing FF 7 some years ago on the PS i started on FF X some weeks ago and no matter what i do i cant seem to properly activate Lulu's overdrive ( proabbly not paying attaention at the right bits) can any one point me in the right direction?
