Where would our country be w/o all of the religious nonprofits and charities?

A lot of those charities refuse to give the homeless any meals or shelter unless they convert to their religion and prey and practice. It's pretty ridiculous that any organization can claim to care about the impoverished, but only when they're religious. all other homeless people can screw off and die I guess. I respect any religious charity that doesn't do this.
